Happy Monday! This band tee casual outfit is clearly a few days old… THE SNOW HAS MELTED! Hallelujah! I’m excited that the days of needing to wear these lace-up winter boots are ending – even though they are so cute. Such a great investment – going on my third year of owning them & they still look brand new. I have noticed they are starting to go on sale – it’s a good time to buy!
Love this wrap sweater – it reminds me of one I used to wear in high school but is obviously a newer version (although I do own some things from high school, ha!) You can show off any other top underneath it, so it’s like getting 2-for-1… nothing worse than wearing something that no one gets to see 😉 I’m a sucker for any band tee, but especially ones that are tie-dye. You can tell I grew up in the 90s.
This belt is the BEST Gucci belt dupe ever. Less than $15 (FOR REALZ) and looks like real leather (may actually be real leather?) and the Gucci buckle is spot-on. Someday I hope to invest in the real deal, but this one works until then. Saving my $$$ for all the Gucci handbags instead 😉

Not just your basic black gingham blouse
I’m always a sucker for a neutral print. I love plain grays and whites and blacks like any other lady, but sometimes it’s fun to change it up with a print. Like this black gingham blouse from the Who What Wear Collection. You can stand out without standing out too much. Ya know?
I also love the ruffle details on the shoulder… Adds a little something extra & makes it look expensive. Except it’s not! Can you believe that this blouse is under $25?! Can’t go wrong with that price.
The sleeve of the shirt is fun too. It gives the top so much more movement than if it were just fitted in the arms.
Who else is tired of the endless amount of sickness and snow?! Now is the time of the year where I am so so ready for spring & it not being freezing outside. Definitely jealous of those of you who live in more mild climates – I do love the snow for the Christmas season, but as soon as January comes, I. Am. Over. It.
Anyway, since it has been snowing everyday for the past week, chili sounded like the perfect meal. Warm, easy & filling… all the elements of a great winter dinner. I typically make a sweet potato quinoa chili recipe, but I wanted to change it up and try out a white bean chili this time. Sometimes chili can feel a bit mushy, so the roasted cauliflower adds a little crispy texture to the dish. As with most of my recipes, there is a spicy component (Frank’s Red Hot Sauce) but it can easily be omitted for those who don’t like spicy foods.
American Eagle — 25-60% off jeans and $15 t-shirts. Obsessed with these lace-up jeggings. Great time to stock up on basic tees! This tie-dye one is so cute, and I love this cage-front long sleeve tee.
Banana Republic — Take up to 40% off your $200+ purchase with code BRFRESH through 2/7. Love this button-up utility top for spring – especially how they have it styled with white jeans in the photo. You need these bright cherry red pants in your life!
How about that snowstorm?! Ha. If you’re not local to Eastern Iowa, we were supposed to get 6-8″ of snow last night and only ended up getting maaaybe 3 total? That’s being generous. Anywayyyy, I’m excited about the weekend. No real plans thus far, but hoping to get some stuff done around the house. Ever since our fireplace mantle remodel project, my husband and I have been thinking of other small projects to do around the house. I think our master bathroom is next! Nothing major – new paint, new light fixtures, painting our vanity, etc.
Anyway, here are some of my favorite things from this week…
Time for my first Sephora Play Box review of 2018! Yaaas! I was happy to see a wide range of products in this box – hair care, skin care, and make-up… there was a little bit of everything. As I’ve said before, this box is such a GREAT deal. $10 for 6 larger product samples?! You can’t go wrong there. Find out what I thought about each item below…
Happy Saturday! I am feeling refreshed after a couple hours to myself. 😉 My husband took the kids to a community event while I stayed home & caught up on the latest Bachelor episode. Now I’m just sipping on some coffee, making lunch & thinking about hopping on the Peloton this afternoon. Exciting day! I had fun picking out my picks from this weekend’s sales… whether you’re looking for casual tees, a hot Valentine’s Day outfit or workout gear, I’ve got you covered!
American Eagle — Buy 2 tops get 1 free. Includes Tailgate tops! Love this love > hate tee, this make love not war tee and this Grand Canyon tee. (Even though I’ve never been been there! lol)
GAP — 40% off your purchase with code HAPPY. This twist-wrap tank is so cute and would be perfect for spring! Love the detail on this flutter sleeve top – cute but not too much going on. I want to buy this top and the matching pants and LIVE IN IT ALL WEEKEND. Looks so comfy!
Not sure who I’m turning into, but I have been LOVING all of the pink lately. You couldn’t have paid me to wear pink 10 years ago, but now I’m all about that millennial pink. Shirts, cardigans, jeans, yes please.
Can’t believe it’s the last day of January and that means February is tomorrow! Time is flying and I have to say that I don’t mind it at this time of year… I’m so ready for spring/summer.
If you haven’t already noticed, I love a pop of color in an outfit. And is there anything better than a rainbow pop of color? I think not. I’m usually drawn to all the neutrals… black & gray are my jam. But sometimes ya need to spice it up a bit. That’s where these sneakers come in…
If you haven’t ever tried the Nike Free RN Flyknits, RUN – don’t walk – & pick some up! The most comfy sneaker I’ve ever worn/exercised in. I would always have foot/shin pain after running with other tennis shoes, but not with these. I love how they’re also just cute enough to wear with a regular outfit.
