Time for my first Sephora Play Box review of 2018! Yaaas! I was happy to see a wide range of products in this box – hair care, skin care, and make-up… there was a little bit of everything. As I’ve said before, this box is such a GREAT deal. $10 for 6 larger product samples?! You can’t go wrong there. Find out what I thought about each item below…
I just have to start by asking, why do they make these packets so hard to rip open?! Imagine me dripping wet, soaking the bathroom floor, trying to get the dang samples open with a toenail clipper. Yep, that was me. HA. Anyway… shampoo & conditioner are probably the only beauty product I don’t LOVE trying… only because I feel like it’s so hard to find something I like, so I want to stick with what I know. Anyway. I’m glad I tried this! The shampoo had a great lather, was easy to scrub my head and it rinsed out well. The conditioner was super soft and felt moisturizing and made my hair super smooth to the touch. Even once I got out of the shower, I was able to brush through my hair with a comb and didn’t have any snarls. I only had enough to use for 2 hair washes, but I definitely noticed a difference in how soft and moisturized my hair was.

I was happy to get this because I just bought the Fresh rose deep hydration face cream to try and it’s fun to test products from the same line at the same time. It has a pleasant smell – kind of reminded me of a grandma scent, but in a good way! I didn’t notice a big difference in using it, but the sample is quite large so I should be able to test it some more. I’ll keep you guys posted on my thoughts!

I loved the thickness of this eye cream and that it was easy to apply. Clinique products always seem to give you a lot of bang for your buck, and this one definitely fits that criteria. It didn’t “wow” me, but I liked it enough to use the rest.

This is the perfect amount of moisturizer and primer for those of us who have dry skin. I have always loved the way the original Smashbox Photo Finish primer feels but it’s usually too drying on my skin. This is the best of both worlds – the photo finish primer + some moisturizing qualities. It is so so similar to my current Hourglass primer, and that’s the only reason I wouldn’t buy more of it at the moment.

A way to make your lashes boosted & more enhanced?! Yes, please! Unfortunately this didn’t work out the greatest for me. I noticed a slight difference, but not enough to spend the time using it. (#momlife) I think part of the problem was the applicator, and it not being able to “grab” enough product to get onto the lashes. Sad day!

This stuff is amazing! I usually use an oil-based cleanser to get my make-up off, but I tried this after and really liked the way it made my skin feel. It’s cool how it’s a charcoal product, but without the mess. It washes off easily, which is great because sometimes I feel like other cleansers are hard to get completely off your skin. It has a super fresh minty smell that would be great to use in the AM when you need a little zing to start the day.
